Hail to the night by *Judin:iconJudin:

Touching her hand
making sure she cries
Checking her pulse
making sure she dies
Catching the blood
in a blackened vial
Midnight birth
of a vampire child

Now I’m a cripple
and now I’m old
Now even summer
is dark and cold
Giving a lecture
on staying alive
Praising the life
of a vampire child

Tall and strong
on his throne of bones
Keeping his kingdom
of blood and stones
Dust beaten up
by a leather wing
Hail to the night
and the Vampire King!

It started out as random sentences and ended up as a vampire poem. :)

Ooh, dark. I like everything except the first stanza. I mean, the last four lines are awesome, but I really don't think the other ones fit in. Then again, that's just my opinion.

You might be on to something there, simply because I wrote the first four lines first, and didn't plan on them becoming a poem about vampires. So they might seem a little out of place. On the other hand I thought it was a little nifty to have a species of vampire that is born by normal women, who become their own children's first meal. :aww:

Hmm, didn't think of it like that. That thought is pretty cool... :plotting:

The first verse is really really nice, but it seemes like the three verses doesn't quite ... belong together?
Or maybe it's just me.

Here comes the helicopter, they're always looking for me ...

Life's short, so draw a giraffe!

Injin said something along the same lines, so I suppose I've done something wrong, and I'll admit that I wrote this over a long period of time and with quite different frames of mind. At the same time I'm quite happy with it, so editing it is not a priority. Thank you so much for the critisizm, though!
